🥶January’s Coldest in Central Florida❄️

Hey everyone, meteorologist Michelle Morgan here, and let’s talk about this crazy cold weather hitting Central Florida! January has been WAY chillier than usual, and it’s definitely standing out.

Normally, Orlando enjoys highs around 71°F, but right now, we’re sitting at an average high of just 55.7°F (so far) – making this the 12th coldest January’s on record! In fact, this could be the 12th coldest January ever, with 1977 still holding the record at a frosty 50.6°F. Definitely not your typical Florida winter!

🌎2024 Becomes Earth’s Hottest Year🥵

How can this be? Michelle was just talking about the cold. Meteorologist Jonathan Kegges back with you. This is one common misconception when it comes to Global Warming or climate change. There can be frigid air at times in an overall warming planet.

It’s so warm we are approaching a critical number the Paris Climate Agreement aimed to stay under. I had the chance to talk to a NASA Earth scientist about the findings and how they know its the hottest when the most reliable records only go back 150 years. This is another big misconception. Hey there! It’s meteorologist Julie Broughton here, fresh back from touring a very cool elementary school in Seminole County for this week’s Getting Results in Our Schools segment.
