ORLANDO, Fla. – For Brandon Salcedo, it’s all about finishing.
“The last two years I’ve played, we’ve made it to the state finals,” Salcedo told News 6. “Each year, I wish we could [get] that last extra little push so that we could win. But, I think this year we have a pretty good chance.”
And because of Salcedo, the Bishop Moore High School boys’ soccer team has a good chance of winning that state title this year. The senior forward wants to finish the deal with the state championship.
“You don’t even imagine how much it motivates me,” Salcedo said. “The ring, the title, the glory...it’s something I’ve wanted since I was a freshman.”
Salcedo is doing his part to achieve those goals. And speaking of goals, he’s got 14 goals this season.
Following this last dance with the Bishop Moore Hornets, Salcedo will head a few hours north to Florida State. Even though the university doesn’t have a men’s soccer team, Salcedo said he’ll play intramurals when he has the time.
“I will hopefully have a career in medicine; that’s my dream,” Salcedo said. “My dad is a doctor, and I hope to follow him in his footsteps.”
