DELAND, Fla. – After holding several different leadership positions in intercollegiate athletics, Ricky Ray is wearing a new hat these days: He’s the athletic director at Stetson University.
Ray has been on the job since early May, and he recently sat down with News 6′s Ryan Welch to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with leading a mid-major athletic department.
Among other topics, Ray discussed his early impressions of life in the Stetson community and his thoughts on dealing with the ever-changing landscape of compensating student-athletes.
