State law enforcement officials are investigating after a group of young boaters were caught on camera dumping trash right into the ocean in the waters off South Florida over the weekend โ and then celebrating what they did.
Condo association accused of detaining Florida couple over COVID-19
BOCA RATON, Fla. โ A Florida couple is suing their condominium association, which they claim detained them in their home against their will after testing positive for COVID-19. The lawsuit claims the association threatened to have them โremoved from the building and/or arrestedโ if they left their condo without permission. โWhat they really canโt do is take my clientโs health information and discriminate them โ and use their private health information to my clientโs disadvantage to use the things theyโre legally entitled to use,โ Jeffrey Kominsky, the coupleโs attorney, told the newspaper. โItโs clear (the association) gave no notice to my clients the association was going to turn off my clientโs fobs.โThe couple tested positive for COVID-19 on July 12, the lawsuit said. โThe association early on represented to (the Iscowitzes) that their health information would be protected,โ Kominsky, the coupleโs lawyer, said.

Miami skydiver dies in north Florida after parachute failed
BOCA RATON, Fla. โ Authorities say a Miami skydiver died in North Florida when his parachute didnโt deploy correctly during a jump. The Bradford County Sheriff's Office said Friday that a team of skydivers were practicing a jump when the accident happened on Friday. The group of seven men, all originally from Cuba, were practicing for a weekend event that honors the families of fallen police officers. News4Jax reported that one of the team members โ Nick Perdomo โ identified his deceased teammate as 51-year-old Yuset Hernandez. โAnd the very last jump that they were doing, one of the skydiverโs chutes didnโt deploy fully,โ Smith said.
White woman slaps Black child at Florida amusement park, uses racist slur, police say
BOCA RATON, Fla. A white woman is facing felony child abuse charges after police say she slapped an 11-year-old Black child and called him a racist slur after his go-kart bumped hers at a Florida amusement park. Boca Raton police say in court records that Haley Zager, 30, and the boy were driving go-karts at the Boomers amusement park Saturday night when they accidentally collided. They say Zager confronted the child after the ride and, in the presence of three Boomers employees, slapped him in the face and used a racial slur. Court records say Zager admitted to officers that she struck the child, who had a swollen eye, but denied using the slur. Police say they also found a container of pills in her underwear and charged her will illegal possession of prescription drugs.
