VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida man standing in the middle of Interstate 95 in Volusia County was killed when he was struck by a car and run over by two pickup trucks, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The fatal wreck was reported at 5:25 a.m. Wednesday on southbound I-95, north of State Road 442 near Edgewater. All southbound lanes are closed in the area.

The FHP said the 37-year-old Fort Pierce man was standing in the travel lanes for an unknown reason when he was struck by a car driven by a 39-year-old Port Orange man, who could not avoid the pedestrian.
Two pickup trucks then ran over the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.
The three drivers, all of whom were wearing seat belts, were uninjured, according to an FHP report.
No other details about the crash have been released.
Drivers can use State Road 44 as an alternate route.
