“Today the city hosted 5 large events, centered around Memorial weekend festivities,” Police Chief Jakari Young said in an update on Twitter. “Due to the unprecedented influx of beachside traffic, we had to temporarily [close] the east bound lane of the bridges, similar to the way we handle the truck events. We appreciate your patience.”
