3 people killed in 2 crashes on State Road 100 in Flagler County

Road was shutdown due to crashes, fog, deputies say

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Troopers responded to two fatal crashes amid foggy conditions on State Road 100 in Flagler County, which forced the closure of all lanes of S.R. 100 from County Road 305 to Water Oak Road, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers were dispatched at 6 a.m. to a fatal crash at the intersection of S.R. 100 and C.R. 305.

Investigators said a car and an SUV traveling in opposite directions hit each other head-on; however, it is not clear which vehicle caused the wreck.

A 26-year-old woman from Gainesville, who was a passenger in the car, died in the crash. Both drivers received minor injuries.

Troopers were later called to a separate fatal crash at the intersection of S.R. 100 and Water Oak Road moments later., records show.

Two drivers died in this wreck when a pick-up and an SUV hit each other head-on, according to a news release.

A 21-year-old man from Satsuma was driving the pick-up and a 57-year-old woman from Welaka was driving the SUV, records show.

Troopers did not say what caused the wreck.

Visibility in the area was under a quarter of a mile and was cited as why the stretch of S.R. 100 was shut down, the sheriff’s office tweeted.
