The FHP said four motorcyclists -- three Jacksonville men and a Jacksonville woman -- were riding north on the interstate when they crashed into each other for an unknown reason, ejecting each of them onto the roadway.

An SUV driven by a 48-year-old Jacksonville woman then struck one of the men, a FHP crash report stated. That man, who was 29 years old, and a 22-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.

The other two motorcyclists were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The SUV driver and her 16-year-old passenger, both of whom were wearing seat belts, were not injured, the crash report stated.

Troopers said all the motorcyclists were wearing helmets.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 95 were closed for about six hours after the wreck.
