The FHP said a 53-year-old DeLand man was driving a Rooms to Go truck east on Minnesota Avenue and had to swerve to avoid a collision with a blue vehicle that ran the stop sign.

The truck traveled across the westbound travel lane of County Road 4094 and onto the property at 1601 E. Minnesota Avenue, where it struck some trees before driving into the front of the house, according to the FHP.

A building inspector and contractor were called to the scene to inspect the damage, troopers said.

The truck driver, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries, according to an FHP crash report, which added that the homeowner was not home when the crash happened.

The blue vehicle left the scene and troopers have no leads about it, the crash report stated.
