Pedestrian hit, seriously injured by pickup truck in Flagler County, troopers say

Crash happened near Sesame Blvd. and Seminole Woods Blvd.

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A 39-year-old New Smyrna Beach man that was standing outside of his vehicle was struck by a pickup truck and seriously injured in Flagler County on Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said a tow truck being driven by the man was traveling northbound on Sesame Boulevard when he stopped in traffic to attempt to pick up debris in the roadway around 12:23 p.m.

While the man exited the tow truck, a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck – being driven by a 21-year-old Palm Coast woman – was traveling west on Seminole Woods Boulevard, according to the FHP. The woman attempted to make a left turn onto Sesame Boulevard and struck the man who was standing in the roadway.

According to the crash report, the man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the Tacoma did not sustain any injuries.
