MELBOURNE, Fla. – A video obtained by News 6 shows a Brightline train narrowly miss a bicyclist, days after two crashes involving Brightline trains killed a total of three people in Brevard County.
The video sent by a News 6 viewer shows a Brightline train narrowly missing the cyclist in downtown Melbourne on East New Haven Avenue.
The near miss comes just days after two separate crashes killed three people involving Brightline trains.

On Wednesday, A man was killed and three passengers were injured after their SUV was struck by a Brightline train and on Friday, two people died in a collision with a Brightline train at the same railroad crossing near South Harbor City Boulevard and W.H. Jackson Street.
On Saturday, the National Transportation Safety Board said it will investigate the two crashes that involved a Brightline train on the high speed train’s route between Miami and Orlando,
The bright, neon yellow trains travel at speeds up to 125 mph (201 kph) in some locations. The 3.5-hour, 235-mile (378-kilometer) trip between Miami and Orlando takes about 30 minutes less than the average drive.
A preliminary report will be released within 30 days, and a final report will be issued in 12 to 24 months, officials said.
