FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A motorcyclist riding along Interstate 95 in Flagler County died after rear-ending a pickup truck late Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 11:40 p.m. on northbound I-95 at mile marker 285, about a mile and a half north of exits to State Road 100, troopers said.

According to an FHP crash report, the motorcyclist — identified as a 40-year-old man from Ballwin, Missouri — was traveling behind a pickup truck in the center lane when the bike struck the truck’s left-rear area. The impact threw the man off the motorcycle and into the paved median where he died, the report states. Troopers believe he was wearing a helmet during the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck came to a stop in the right shoulder, troopers said. None of the truck’s four occupants — two of whom were children — were injured in the crash, according to the report.
