The FHP said the man was driving a van that veered off the roadway to the left and entered back onto the roadway before the driver overcorrected, which caused the vehicle to rotate in a counterclockwise direction and leave the road. The left front of the van then collided with a tree, the FHP said.
The man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
The woman was wearing a seat belt, but the man was not, according to an FHP crash report.
