VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A crash involving five vehicles early Wednesday is creating heavy delays on Interstate 4 in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened around 4:50 a.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 112 near Saxon Boulevard.
The FHP said the crash involved two semitrucks and three vehicles. As of 7 a.m., the outside westbound lane is blocked but the inside and center lanes are open.
Four people were taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries was not released.
“Drivers need to use caution in the area and prepare for traffic delays,” the Florida Highway Patrol said in a post on X.
This crash happened hours after another wreck on I-4 at Enterprise Road.
According to the FHP, this crash happened around 1:55 a.m. and involved a semitruck and pickup. The semitruck overturned, and hit the overpass near mile marker 109, troopers said, but there was no damage to the overpass.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
