VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – This morning, under a thick blanket of fog, we’re heading up to Barberville to take a closer look at a traffic concern brought to our attention by a viewer.

The specific location in question is the intersection of SR-40 and SR-17/92, where the viewer believes a turn arrow or designated turning lane may be necessary for southbound drivers.

Since this is an area I do not frequently visit, today’s Trooper Steve on Patrol live stream will be all about observing the flow of traffic and determining whether additional signage or roadway adjustments could improve safety and efficiency. We’ll assess factors like congestion, driver behavior, and any existing challenges that might justify a dedicated turn signal or lane.

If you’ve ever driven through this intersection and have thoughts on its traffic flow, be sure to join the discussion during the stream. Let’s see firsthand whether this intersection could benefit from some changes!
