Ormond Beach police on Friday said that Daniel Conway was traveling north on Peninsula Drive when he lost control of his bike, which overturned multiple times before coming to rest in the front yard of a home.

Conway was taken to a hospital, where he later died, police said.

“As Bike Week continues, we cannot stress enough the importance of road safety,” Police Chief Jesse Godfrey said. “Every life is valuable, and every precaution on the road can make a difference.”

The Ormond Beach Police Department urges all motorists and pedestrians to stay alert, drive responsibly and look out for one another.

“Obey posted speed limits and traffic laws to help prevent accidents and please prioritize safety to ensure Bike Week is enjoyed responsibly,” police said in a post on social media.
