Man killed in fiery Flagler County crash, troopers say

Crash happened on I-95 at mile marker 290

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A man was killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash in Flagler County on Monday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the deadly crash happened in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 at mile marker 290 around 4:08 p.m.

According to a crash report, a “truck tractor” was traveling south on the interstate in the outside lane.

Witnesses told troopers that the vehicle gradually veered off of the road onto the wet grass shoulder, where it continued in a southwesterly direction into the woodline before striking a tree.

According to the report, the vehicle came to a final rest against the tree before becoming fully engulfed in flames.

No other information was released including the age or identity of the man who died in the crash.
