19-year-old in pickup truck strikes SUV in head-on crash, killing 65-year-old Palm Coast man, FHP says

Fatal wreck happened on Belle Terre Boulevard near Kankakee Trail

PALM COAST, Fla. – A 65-year-old man was killed Monday morning when his vehicle was struck by a pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash happened around 6:40 a.m. on Belle Terre Boulevard near Kankakee Trail.

According to an FHP crash report, the 19-year-old Interlachen man was heading north on Belle Terre Boulevard when he crossed over the yellow line and hit an SUV head-on.

The SUV driver, a 65-year-old Palm Coast man, was pronounced dead at the scene, the FHP said.

The 19-year-old was seriously injured, according to the crash report.

Troopers said neither driver was wearing a seat belt.

No other information was released.
