A severe thunderstorm watch had been issued until 9 p.m. for most of the region. That watch is now canceled for Central Florida, as the severe weather passed through the area.

A watch means that conditions are favorable for the development of damaging storms. A warning means that a severe thunderstorm is in progress or expected soon.

The weather should be quiet for the rest of the evening and overnight.

Another round of severe weather will be possible Friday and then again Saturday before the region is hit by a major cooldown, with temperatures early Sunday dipping into the 30s.
