The National Weather Service put out a severe thunderstorm warning for Marion County through 6 p.m., saying hazards could including wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea-sized hail.
The NWS cautioned Marion County residents that winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects, adding that minor damage is possible for anything left outside.
Locations noted by the NWS warning include: Ocklawaha, Moss Bluff, Lake Weir, Umatilla, Pittman, Altoona and Silver Springs Shores.
The Marion County Sheriffâs Office said the thunderstorm has already disrupted power to several traffic lights and railroad crossings and told drivers to use caution as they come across these outages.
In the event that drivers come across a traffic light outage, the department said, drivers should treat the light as a four-way stop sign.
Stay safe!
