Here’s when the next big cooldown arrives in Central Florida -- and the long-range look at Thanksgiving

Short-lived chill arrives before mid-November warmth

Cold front arrives Monday

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida continues to warm up after its most recent round of cooler air.

The warmest days of the rest of the week will be Friday and Saturday, when highs in Central Florida approach record territory.

Records Friday

Air temperatures in the afternoon are expected to be in the mid- to upper 80s. The record in Orlando for Friday is 90 degrees, set in 1895.

A cold front is poised to move through Central Florida on Sunday into Monday, bringing cooler air to the region. The air behind this front, however, isn’t as chilly as our last couple of fronts.

Cloud cover and a few showers will help keep temperatures in the mid- to upper 70s early next week.

Looking Ahead

Beyond Wednesday of next week, the blowtorch returns to Central Florida -- and a good chunk of the eastern two-thirds of the country.

Highs will likely surge to the mid- to upper 80s through just before Thanksgiving.

Another big cold front is lurking around the Thanksgiving timeframe. There is uncertainty, however, as to if the pattern will flip around Thanksgiving or if the colder air will remain bottled up in the Northwest for a little while longer.

The moral of the story? Above-average warmth looks to dominate Central Florida for the bulk of November, with the exception of early next week. Those that love the cooler air will at least have to wait until around Thanksgiving for the next big blast.

The warmth in November was to be expected in the long-range outlook posted in September. The weather pattern is expected to turn cool and wet as we venture into winter. For the stormy winter forecast click here.
