ORLANDO, Fla. – The low that brought Central Florida record-breaking rainfall on Saturday, and into the early morning hours Sunday, is now continuing to track to the northeast.

This will drag a lot of the moisture that’s been hanging around away. Drier air has moved in breaking apart the clouds and that will continue overnight.

Lows will settle in the upper 40s to low-and-mid 50s tonight. Clouds south of the metro will linger a bit longer, but by tomorrow they will be gone.

Highs tomorrow will rebound to the upper 50 to low mid-to-upper 60s with plenty of sunshine.

A secondary cold front will move in late Monday afternoon as a dry front.

It will lack the rain, but reinforce stable and dry air. The lack of moisture combined with a shift in the west wind to a northwest wind will allow for temperatures to cool down significantly.

On Tuesday morning get ready to bundle up!

Areas to the northwest of Interstate 4 will wake up in the upper 30s to low 40s, but when you factor in the cool breeze, it will feel closer to the lower 30s.

Around the metro expect morning temperatures in the mid 40s will feel like the upper 30s. Even the Brevard coast will wake up on the chilly side in the upper 40s, but it will feel like the mid 40s with the gusty wind around.

Tuesday afternoon doesn’t warm up much. Although the winds begin to relax they will still gust around 15-20 mph adding a little bite to the already chilly air. Much of the day Tuesday will be spent in the low 50s struggling to reach the mid-to-upper 50s.

The cold air continues for one more night, before a gradual warm up begins for the rest of the week. Although we say warm up temperatures will be in the 60s for a few days and then by the Christmas holiday weekend hit closer to more seasonal warmth in the low 70s.
