ORLANDO, Fla. – OK, it’s still going to be hot, but an uncommon push of dry air during the middle of August should help take a bite out of the oppressive humidity of late.
The chunk of drier air plunging down the eastern seaboard should arrive by Friday and could bring the “coolest” air Central Florida has felt since early June.
Most of Central Florida will bottom out in the lower 70s. A few upper 60s could be sprinkled in north of Orlando. Morning temperatures will remain in the mid-to-upper 70s along most of the coast due to the very warm Atlantic Ocean.
Now, it will still be hot Friday and through the weekend with highs in the low 90s, but the humidity will ease back a bit.
With the drier air, storm chances are non-existent Friday and Saturday.
They’ll creep up only to 20% on Sunday. This likely subtle drop in humidity won’t last long, though.
By Monday, the rich humidity builds back, and by the middle of the work week, we jump back into regularly scheduled programming.
Cold fronts may try to sneak into Central Florida later in September but typically, the big season-changing front doesn’t arrive until mid-late October.
