ORLANDO, Fla. – As we officially welcome fall tomorrow morning at 8:43, Central Florida is gearing up for a weekend of lovely weather!
It’s the perfect time to step outside and enjoy the sunshine, though we’ve got our eye on a few coastal showers. Don’t worry — most of us will stay dry throughout the day.

Weekend weather overview:
Orlando will see temperatures climb right into the normal range, with highs around 89 degrees. It will be breezy at times this afternoon with winds from the northeast at 5-15 mph. Thanks to that onshore flow, any showers that do pop up will likely move to the southwest.
Now, here’s the good news: there’s a lot of dry air hanging out above us, which means those showers will struggle to hold together. So, while we may see a few sprinkles, most of us can look forward to clear skies for the bulk of the weekend.

Looking ahead to the work week:
The pleasant weather continues into the start of the work week with highs staying in the upper 80s to low 90s. Rain chances remain low, hovering around 20%, so it looks like we’ll be in for some nice, warm days to ease into fall.
What’s happening in the tropics:
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is keeping an eye on four areas of interest. Three are in the central Atlantic — each of them only has about a 10% chance of further development over the next seven days and are of no concern to Central Florida. A new area off the coast of Africa has a 20% chance of development over the next seven days.
The area we’re watching a little more closely is in the western Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. This system has a 60% chance of developing further in the next seven days. While it’s still too early to say if it will impact Central Florida, we should have a clearer picture once the system becomes better organized. If it does affect us, we’re looking at the end of next week and into the weekend.
