TIMELINE: Rain expected for morning commute in Central Florida

First 30s and 40s of the season behind rain

ORLANDO, Fla. – The remnants of Tropical Storm Sara are combining with a cold front to increase rain chances for the Wednesday morning commute.

Expect showers to move into areas near and along the I-75 corridor from the Gulf of Mexico after midnight.

Future rain

A broken line of scattered showers and a stray rumble of thunder will move into the I-4 corridor during the 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. ballpark Wednesday morning.

Rainfall

Most of the steady rain will then exit into the Atlantic by 8 or 9 a.m.

A few stray showers will will develop through the early afternoon, but most of the second half of Wednesday will be dry.

Rainfall amounts will generally be light with the heaviest rain falling west of Orlando.

Highs Wednesday will top out in the mid-to-upper 70s.

The coldest air since last winter will then plunge down the Florida Peninsula Thursday. Highs Thursday will top out in the 60s. Lows will be in the 40s Friday through the weekend. A few 30s will be possible north of Orlando.
