ORLANDO, Fla. – Highs Tuesday were held in the 50s across Central Florida making it the coolest afternoon since the middle of last January. With clearing skies and relatively calmer winds, temperatures will drop even colder than Tuesday morning.

With the calmer wind, it may feel a little warmer Wednesday morning even though it will be a few degrees colder.

Tuesday night

The calmer wind and colder air will allow for widespread frost to develop north of Orlando. Patchy frost is possible south of Orlando.

A freeze warning, possibility of air temperatures dropping to 32 degrees or colder without the wind, is in effect for western Marion county. A freeze mainly impacts plants. Any plant susceptible to cold should be brought in or covered to prevent damage.

Highs Wednesday afternoon will top out around 60 degrees.

A slight warmup, temperatures nearing 70, arrives Friday. Another cold front brings rain and a reinforcing shot of cold for the end of the weekend and start of the work week.
