Florida temperatures set to plummet. Here’s when

What to expect as cold air moves into the region

ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida is gearing up for another touch of winter.

Freeze warnings will be in effect for parts of Marion County from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m., as temperatures dip to around 32 degrees.

A cold weather advisory will also be in effect during the overnight hours for Lake, Sumter, and Polk counties and expires at 10 a.m.

Forecasts show brisk lows, with Orlando and Sanford expected to hit 41 degrees, DeLand and Palm Coast at 39 degrees, and Ocala right at the freezing point of 32 degrees.

It’s not just the temperatures to watch out for—northeasterly winds from 10 to 20 mph could make it feel even colder, dropping the wind chill into the 20s in some central areas.

While tomorrow might require layering up, warmer weather is on the horizon. Friday’s highs are expected to be in the upper 50s and lower 60s and it’ll stay breezy.

Temperatures are predicted to climb, reaching the lower 70s by the weekend. A mix of sunshine and clouds is expected, with only a slight chance of rain as we move into Monday.
