ORLANDO, Fla. – The skies are clear, the winds are blowing, and the sun is shining.
Spring break is in full effect for Central Florida. Thankfully, Mother Nature fully intends to play ball with us!
After an eventful weekend prior with severe weather, damaging winds, power outages, and a few tornado warnings, conditions are looking VERY good for spring breakers and Central Floridians alike for the next five to seven days.
Rain chances will be slim to none thanks to the dry air and higher pressure building overhead in response to the cold front that passed through within the last 24 hours.
Water vapor does an outstanding job of depicting all the dry air in the base of the upper-level trough just digging in across our state forcing any moisture or cloud cover off to the east.
Temperatures are going to warm back up after a somewhat chilly start to yesterday and your Tuesday morning. Afternoon highs are looking outstanding as we begin to enter the backside of a surface high pressure currently sitting overtop of us.
We’ll notice winds transition from a bit of a gusty northwesterly direction back out of the east and eventually the south. This is how we know the high has pushed into the Atlantic, and we’ll start to feel the mugginess and the warmer Florida-like temperatures return.
We are closely pinpointing the arrival of another cold front late Thursday into Friday morning. Rain chances are slim with this, likely as a result of lingering dry air and sinking provided by the previously mentioned high pressure. But, if you reside towards the northern border of our viewing area, you could see a stray shower or two as the front arrives around 7 p.m.
Then, finally, the weekend looks amazing with a quick cool down for Friday morning and then 80s return across the spectrum for a beautiful weekend to wrap up spring break!
We’re watching to see if rain returns at the start of next week with another storm system forecast to form up over the plains and extend its reach into central Florida by next Monday.
