BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – A tornado touched down and crossed Interstate 75 in South Florida as tornadic supercells from Hurricane Milton began to sweep the state, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The tornado crossed the interstate around 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service, in a lightly populated Everglades area of South Florida..

Tornadic supercells are spawning reported tornadoes in Central and South Florida, and more tornado warnings are expected throughout the night.
Milton has picked up forward speed and landfall could happen earlier sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday to 1 a.m. Thursday near the Sarasota area.
