PONCE INLET, Fla. – A beachfront home in Ponce Inlet caught fire on Wednesday afternoon, according to Ponce Inlet fire officials.
According to Ponce Inlet Fire Chief, Dan Scales, one-third of the home on South Atlantic Avenue was engulfed in flames but is now under control.

No one was in the home at the time of the fire, Scales said, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
“There was construction going on, but it’s not confirmed that was the reason for the fire,” he said.
Ponce Inlet firefighters were assisted by the Daytona Beach Shores and Daytona Beach Fire Departments, Scales said.
The 6,331 square feet, four-bedroom, six-bath home on South Atlantic Avenue in Volusia County is valued at around $2.6 million, according to real estate marketplace Zillow.
Photos and video posted to Facebook by Willy Goldsmidt around 2 p.m. shows heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof in the front and back of the home.
