Hey, Florida, it’s way too hot for winter! Here’s how high temps will soar

Orlando-area temperatures to climb near 90, possibly set record

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida on Friday is once again starting off under a blanket of dense fog, with reduced visibility being reported across much of the area. The worst of the fog is in Orange, Osceola and Lake counties, which are under a dense fog advisory until 9 a.m.

Temperatures will warm even further in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies as highs reach the mid- to low 80s inland and upper 70s along the coast.

The East Coast sea breeze is expected to develop later Friday and move inland through the day. As it pushes inland, a few scattered showers will pop up along the boundary for far inland locations through sunset.

Highs Friday Morning

A cold front is expected near north Florida by Saturday, veering winds across Central Florida out of the south and west.

Surface winds will also become very breezy to gusty at times on Saturday with gusts upward of 25 mph.

Temperatures will be above average for this time of the year, with highs nearing daily record highs to near 90.

Nearing Records Saturday

The front is forecast to gradually weaken as it pushes south across the area into Sunday, with models picking up a line of scattered showers and storms late Saturday night and overnight into Sunday.

Front brings rain late Saturday through early Sunday morning.

While the threat for severe weather remains north of our area, we can’t rule out the chance of a few storms producing lightning and gusty winds.

Severe Threat Late Saturday

The front looks to clear Central Florida around daybreak on Sunday, ushering in much cooler and drier air into the first half of the workweek.

Highs on Sunday should stay near normal -- in the mid to upper 70s -- under mostly sunny skies.

The same time the front passes over Central Florida, daylight saving time officially begins. Don’t forget to move your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed Saturday night!
