Here’s your Central Florida forecast.

STORM CHANCES

Much needed rain returns to the area starting Monday afternoon and continuing each day.

Rain Chances This Week

The afternoon’s setup will be driven by the west coast sea breeze pushing a line of storms from I-75 toward I-95 starting at 2 p.m. and lingering through sundown. Main threats with this activity include gusty winds (45-55 mph), frequent lightning, coin-sized hail and an isolated rotating storm.

Due to the potential for some strong storms to turn severe, the storm prediction center has issued a marginal risk for the threat Monday afternoon and early evening.

Severe Weather Threats

The threat of rain and strong storms continues into Tuesday and Wednesday as the stationary boundary shifts closer, keeping chances elevated at 50-60%.

TEMPERATURES

Along with the summer-like storms, the summer-like heat will also return, with highs staying in the mid- to low 90s and peak heat indices running between 100-105 degrees each afternoon. Lows remain warm as well in the upper 60s to low 70s over the next several nights.
