ORLANDO, Fla. – A cold front is expected to bring big time changes ahead in the forecast this week.
Expect to get walloped with rain on Wednesday before temperatures drop to the lowest values in nine months!
TUESDAY
Tuesday looks to be the warmest day of the week as highs soar into the mid 80s as our large ridge of high pressure keeps Central Florida under southeasterly winds through the day. You’ll notice some low cloud cover hanging around, especially along the coast with limited rain in the forecast.
WEDNESDAY
As our first significant cold front of the season approaches Central Florida, it will be picking up extra moisture from a low in the Gulf associated with the remnants of Sara. Cloudy skies and scattered showers are likely starting early Wednesday, with a 50-70% chance of rain.
We could see some heavy rainfall, with totals between 0.5-1 inch, along with gusty winds up to 25 mph.
Winds will shift from the southeast to the north-northwest behind the cold front on Wednesday into Thursday. Wednesday afternoon, temperatures will warm into the upper 70s to low 80s, before they drop Thursday morning into the low 50s to low 60s.
THURSDAY-WEEKEND
Much colder air settles in starting Thursday, with temperatures remaining well below normal through the weekend.
Temperatures Thursday and Friday are expected to remain in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees with a strong breeze out of the west-northwest before calming down by the weekend.
Temperatures will begin gradually warming by the weekend as daytime highs remain near 70 degrees Saturday and Sunday with lows in the mid 40s to low 50s.
