Dense fog advisory issued for parts of Central Florida before another hot day. Here’s when things change

Advisory in effect until 10 a.m.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Wednesday morning’s fog event has been most noticeable along the coast, with some spots seeing visibility drop to just a quarter mile.

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for Brevard, Orange, Seminole and coastal Volusia, Marion and Sumter counties.

If you’re driving, be ready for reduced visibility in some areas. Make sure to slow down, use low beam headlights, and keep a safe distance from other vehicles. Conditions should improve later Wednesday morning, though some cloud cover along the coast could stick around through the afternoon.

A weak high pressure system will keep things dry for Wednesday with highs rising into the low to mid 80s.

Overnight, southerly winds will remain light, and fog could develop again across east central Florida. There’s a 40-60% chance of visibility dropping below a mile south of Orlando, but we’ll keep an eye on it and adjust as needed. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid 60s.

As we look ahead to the weekend, the weather should stay pretty consistent, with weak high pressure lingering over the western Atlantic. Rain chances will stay low, under 10%, until Monday, when a cold front approaches.

There’s a lot of uncertainty in the forecast, but for now, expect a 20% chance of rain in the northern parts of east central Florida.

Highs will stay in the upper 70s to mid 80s, and lows will range from the upper 50s to mid 60s.

Fog is expected each evening and into the early morning, with visibility dropping to a mile or less in some areas. If you’re planning to drive overnight, keep an eye on the forecast and drive carefully.
