ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is starting the weekend with dense fog advisories in place for Sumter, Marion and Flagler counties.
With visibility dropping to less than a quarter mile at times, drivers should exercise caution. Similar foggy conditions are expected early Saturday morning, so plan accordingly if you’re heading out before the sun rises.
As the fog makes its exit, sunshine takes over, bringing warmth to Central Florida. With temperatures climbing into the low to mid-80s, it might feel more like early May. The current forecast indicates this trend will continue, with even higher temperatures expected next week, possibly reaching the upper 80s by Thursday while we remain mostly dry.
If you’re thinking about hitting the beach, this weekend could be the best one yet this year. Temperatures along the coastline are expected to stay in the low 80s with a refreshing light breeze. However, there’s a moderate risk of rip currents, so it’s important to stay cautious while enjoying the waves. Grab your beach towel and sunscreen, and make the most of this beautiful weather.
Don’t forget, you can also share your beach photos and videos on PinIt! and see what others are enjoying this weekend!
Looking down range, models are hinting at the arrival of a cold front by Daytona 500 weekend (Feb. 16).
Models still differ a bit on whether or not it will have enough energy to clear Central Florida. We will continue to monitor the trends as we head into next week.
