ORLANDO, Fla. – Get ready for a whirlwind of weather in Central Florida as heat, rain and cooler days are ahead!
A warm Wednesday is on tap, as highs rebound into the upper 80s inland and low 80s along the coastline as a cold front nears the Sunshine State.
The front will approach Central Florida on Thursday, skyrocketing temperatures to a near-record high of 90 degrees. If it pans out, this could mark the earliest 90-degree day on record.
Along with the summer-like conditions, rain and storms will also return on Thursday with coverage at 30-40%. Activity looks to form inland through the afternoon, gradually tracking toward the east coast by sundown.
A touch of cooler air settles in on Valentine’s Day on Friday with highs closer to near normal in the mid to upper 70s with mostly dry conditions.
Weekend:
Another, but stronger, cold front approaches the area by this weekend, increasing temperatures again into the mid-80s Saturday.
Rain and storm chances increase by Sunday to 40-50%. The timing of the rain does differ slightly between models, with some bringing rain in the afternoon while others hold the rain till later in the day.
For those heading to the Daytona 500 on Sunday, weather delays will certainly be possible. So make sure to have your raingear handy.
