ORLANDO, Fla. – We’re looking at a pretty pleasant forecast Monday across the state.
An area of high pressure in the western Atlantic will gradually weaken as a cold front from the southeastern U.S. makes its way toward Florida Monday night.
Most of us will stay dry for the day, though some clouds will begin to roll in as moisture increases. That moisture will come from the Gulf, carried by a shift in winds to the west this afternoon. Expect temperatures to reach the 80s, with the warmest spots inland.
Monday night, the cold front begins to approach, and we’ll see a chance of some rain moving into the Atlantic waters.
While there could be a few light sprinkles in northern parts of east-Central Florida, it’s looking like the chance of rain for most will be low Monday night. Temperatures will only dip into the low to mid-60s overnight.
Tuesday & Wednesday:
On Tuesday, that cold front will be making its way across the state, pushing south throughout the day. You’ll notice rain chances go up with a 20-40% chance of showers across Central and Southern Florida.
The rain likely won’t be heavy or widespread, but we could see a few strong storms in the afternoon. As the sun sets and the front weakens, rain chances should start to wind down. However, don’t be surprised if a few showers linger in the Atlantic into Wednesday morning.
By Wednesday, we’ll see drier air pushing in, thanks to a reinforcing cold front. That’ll push rain chances way down and by Wednesday night, the skies should start to clear up. Expect highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s both Tuesday and Wednesday, but Wednesday will likely be the warmer day of the two.
Thursday-Sunday:
After the cold front clears, expect mostly sunny skies with clear to partly cloudy conditions through Friday. Highs through the weekend are expected to range from the upper 70s to the upper 80s, with lows in the upper 50s to mid-60s. Sounds like perfect weather for any outdoor plans you’ve got!
A Quick Look Ahead
We’re keeping an eye on the end of the weekend. There’s a possibility of a few isolated showers on Sunday ahead of the next weather system, but it’s still a bit too early to be certain about that. As always, I’ll keep you updated as we get closer.
