ORLANDO, Fla. – High pressure is hanging out over the western Atlantic and Florida, keeping things pretty calm but breezy. Expect southeasterly winds to pick up across east-Central Florida today, with gusts reaching 20-30 mph Thursday afternoon.
Along the breeze a stray shower could pop up over the waters and possibly moving onshore, especially this morning, but don’t worry – the rain chances are low, less than 10%. Overall, it’s mostly a dry day.

As for temps, expect a third consecutive day with highs flirting with near 90 degrees inland and mid 80s along the coast.
Heading into the weekend:
The heat will crank up a bit higher as we head into the weekend with highs remaining over 10 degrees above average with most areas reaching the low 90s by Sunday.

Friday and Saturday’s temps won’t quite break any records, but Sunday is looking close to record highs for places like Daytona Beach and Orlando. Expect a steady southeast breeze through the weekend, with a sea breeze kicking in along the coast each afternoon.
Monday:
By Monday, a cold front will start pushing toward Florida, shifting our high-pressure system southward. Ahead of the front Monday, expect highs to push near record-breaking levels in the low 90s.
Rain chances will start to increase Monday night through Tuesday as the cold front moves through Central Florida.
There’s still some uncertainty on exactly when the front will arrive, and the models are a bit different in terms of how much rain we’ll get. The latest forecast leans toward about a 40-60% chance of rain, especially overnight Monday and into Tuesday.

As the front moves through, we might see some stronger storms, but that depends on how unstable the atmosphere is at the time.
Tuesday & Wednesday:
After the front passes, cooler air will move in, with highs in the 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday and lows dropping into the 50s and low 60s.

Onshore winds will bring a few light showers, so rain chances will hang around at 20-30% through midweek.
