ORLANDO, Fla. – A weak front will finally help bring some much-needed rain back to the Central Florida area for Monday, with coverage creeping up to 20-50%.
On Monday, the east coast sea breeze will start firing up some showers and storms along I-4 around 3 p.m. before shifting west into the evening.
Even though some rain would be great after our dry stretch, not everyone will see showers. And where it does rain, it’ll probably add up to less than half an inch.
Embedded within strong storms, we can expect some occasional lightning and wind gusts up to 40 mph.
Temps will hit the low 80s along the coast and and near 90 inland.
Heads up if you’re heading to the beach as rip current risks are high again, thanks to long-period swells. It’s not a good day to get in the surf.
Weeklong Outlook
Temperature-wise, it’ll be a little cooler Tuesday, with highs in the low to mid-80s, but we’ll quickly warm back up into the mid-80s to low 90s by mid- to late week.
Overnight lows will generally hang out in the low to mid-60s, and the more rural areas could even dip into the upper 50s Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Skies will be mostly clear until Friday, when some extra moisture could bring a few more clouds.
Weekend
Looking ahead to the weekend, our next chance of rain shows up.
A weak front is expected to swing through the eastern U.S. The front will weaken as it moves south, but it will still help boost moisture levels and rain chances.
With the front nearby and the east coast sea breeze doing its thing, we’ll have some support for scattered showers each afternoon. A few isolated storms can’t be ruled out either, but confidence is still pretty low for now. Models don’t totally agree yet, but we’re sticking with a general 20–30% chance of rain each day.
Expect temps to stay steady, with highs in the mid-80s to low 90s and overnight lows in the low to mid-60s.
